  • Morningside Lane

    Morningside Lane

    Pop

Morningside Lane is an American Indie pop-rock band from Bergen County, NJ.

Founding members, Marc Del Giudice (lead vocals/guitar) and Jon Khan (lead guitar/vocals), grew up together as family friends in Fort Lee/Palisades Park, New Jersey. After about a year of writing and rehearsing together, the band began playing local cafes and venues. With their lineup now completed by drummer, Ori Yekutiel, and bassist, Jake Donofrio, Morningside Lane have toured the US, UK and Canada playing national shows and local shows while also hitting underground basement shows in New Jersey.

The band’s first two EPs, Just The Other Side of Romance and Poets & Back to the Radio, released in 2011 and 2012 respectively, were produced, mixed and engineered by Ted Young (Arcade Fire, The Gaslight Anthem, Brand New and Coldplay). Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls recorded the band’s other two EPs, including A Fifth of Elvis, which The Aquarian praised, “Compacted with killer and no filler at all...there is something enjoyable for everyone,” and Mellow Drama, which Music Gets Me By called an “excellent, rich record and a great statement to the band’s future direction.”

  • The Benjees

    The Benjees

    Alternative Rock

The Benjees came together through a series of mishaps and lucky timing. Bassist/singer Joe Visconti joined the band when guitarist/lead singer Ben Roberts accidentally forgot to cancel his audition. Drummer Graham Doby moved to New York and joined different band, but after they unexpectedly broke up, he wound up in The Benjees. Similarly, keyboardist Martin McDonald signed up while on a fortuitous break in between projects.

With diverse influences ranging from Jack White to The Beastie Boys to James Brown and beyond, The Benjees create rock music with elements of punk and pop mixed in. Reflecting the urgency and gritty aesthetic of their native New York City, the band is set apart by their energetic, fast-paced songs that balance bottom-heavy foundations with interweaving guitar melodies and three part harmonies. The end result is captured for the first time on their forthcoming, full-length album.

Stay tuned as The Benjees follow up their first single release, “Hollywood” with subsequent single/video releases and live shows, leading up to the release of their debut album, ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT, in July 2015.

    Nadia Kazmi

    Alternative Rock

Nadia Kazmi is an indie rock singer/songwriter originally from Calgary, Canada whose love for lyrics colors her world and songs. She has released two albums worldwide and toured extensively in North America as well as some parts of Europe. Her first album of all original songs was released in 2008 and titled Arrival. Her second album, Strange Song, released in 2010, consisted of deep cuts from her favorite Leonard Cohen albums. She reimagined Cohen's genius compositions with an alt-rock interpretation. Her next release is the 7 song EP, LAMB, which can be heard in August 2015. She is currently recording her third full-length album to be released in 2016. The album of original songs takes her further into the direction she first envisioned: poetic folk lyrics with blues rock production. Her songs can be heard in many cable television shows in the US and abroad. She continues to play live in both Northeast US and Canada.

The Ferreira siblings spent their childhood travelling between Toronto Canada, and a small town in Portugal where their heritage and much of their family still lived. Whether due to The Beatles records on at home, the exposure to traditional Portuguese music or the church, music was a heavy influence on all 3 children.

Brothers Gabriel and Basilio would later play in bands together all through high school and later relocate to Los Angeles, California as the little songs from their bedroom were now finding themselves on EA sports Nascar video games and being performed on stages along side bands as Stone Temple Pilots, My Chemical Romance and Billy Talent.

Simultaneously, bELA Ferreira found herself touring solo in Europe and hosting MTV Portugal, following the unexpected radio success of  two of her recorded songs.

Ménage was born when all 3 Ferreiras were in Los Angeles and decided to write music together for the first time since first discovering their instruments under the Christmas tree in their parents’ living room.

The New Tarot is a post-genre indie alternative band based out of Brooklyn, NY. The Walker sisters, Monika (vocals/guitar) and Karen (vocals/keyboard), formed their band in the spring of 2014. While performing poetry outside Union Square’s subway entrance, Monika Walker captivated the attention of a passing man, who would later become the band’s manager. After hearing the brilliance in Monika’s use of verbiage and poetry, and learning she had a sister studying music composition at college, the soon-to-be manager convinced Karen to leave college and pursue a career in music with her sister. They were soon to find three amazing musicians to join their cause: Chas Langston (celebrated British drummer), Beth Callen (coolest ever lead guitarist, doubles as Slash in Guns n'Roses Cover band) and Dave Kahn (bassist whose prog-rock band "Wahrus" is making waves) The band creates archetypes throughout their music and their stories are filled with chaos, harmony and the concept of space within ourselves and the universe. Headlining Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory and playing at other major NYC venues to include Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, The Slipper Room and the legendary Bitter End, The New Tarot has had major take off in just a year’s time.

  • Pushing Static

    Pushing Static

    Indie Pop

After a handful of months off to track their debut record, Pushing Static is dropping their album and beginning their east coast tour- hitting venues in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland. The premier album "Life Will Begin" contains thirteen high-energy indie-pop tracks written, performed and produced by frontman Asher Condit and was tracked at The Cutting Room Studios in New York City. Respect for both analog and digital synths coupled with powerful, beat-beat drums fortify the record's ear-worm melodies and catchy hooks. The music adds color and character through the heavy use of various auxiliary percussion instruments and delayed guitars. Pushing Static won't be a band to miss this summer.

  • Stroamata

    Stroamata

    Rock

Stroamata wore many colors, took many different shapes, and created a wide and wild array of sounds throughout the late 2000s. It wasn’t until the release of 2008's self-produced album Things Left Lying Around that Stroamata really came into being. The sound and style grew with their second release, The Phoenix EP, in 2010. Stroamata played just about every club in Boston and built a strong reputation for often being the best band on the bill. Now Stroamata is taking their sound to Brooklyn, to light a raging fire.
