His performances embody the fertile and varied history of musical experiences; he’s worked with a who’s who of musical giants; from Sonny Rollins, McCoy Tyner, Dizzy Gillespie, and Slide Hampton to Stevie Wonder, Keith Richards, and Paul Simon, among many others. His music flows from Hard and Post Bop straight ahead, Caribbean, to contemporary grooves to American songbook material and original works, with an undercurrent of social commentary. Clifton’s stellar sextet will be performing selections from his latest release “Been Down This Road Before” along with other fan favorites.
