CITY OF SOUND creates music that blends cinematic-scope with emotional honesty, layering strings, roaring guitars, and soaring melodies. Touring out of it’s Indiana roots, and infused with a DIY hustle, the band blends sweeping orchestral elements with rock-dynamics and a message their fans have rallied around — hope is the new counterculture.
Led by frontman Jordan “J” Wright (vocals/piano), CITY OF SOUND is often compared to the likes of Muse, Coldplay, Angels & Airwaves, and M83 with it’s soaring vocals, orchestral textures, and thunderous instrumentation. The result is what Wright calls “music that punches you in the heart.” The band’s lineup includes Wright, classically trained violinist Lacey ‘Nova’ Bowen, guitarist John Reaves, drummer Chris Wilson (Good Charlotte, Summer Obsession, JMSN).
Following the release of their debut album, Silent Empire, the band has entered a new era shaped and funded by their fan community, known as “The Madness.” Their upcoming second album, Destination: Arrival, is expected early 2026.
CITY OF SOUND isn’t just about music — it's about connection. The band often describes themselves as being “fandependent,” a nod to their deeply involved listeners who are known as
“The Madness.” This fan community has played a direct role in helping to fund and shape the band’s next chapter. Their messages of purpose, hope, and creative defiance continue to resonate in a time when disillusionment often dominates. CITY OF SOUND is proof that there is always room for hope, that music is powerful, and that no one has to face darkness alone.
CITY OF SOUND’s live shows are known for being immersive, high-energy experiences that leave audiences breathless, inspired, and full of hope. Whether you’re a gamer, a dreamer, or someone searching for meaning in all the noise, this music offers a soundtrack to your own personal odyssey.
