City of Pines, Tinsley, The Preacher and the Freight Train
-
A music project built by an outdoorsman, for those who love the freedom of the hills and wide open places. Founded, by Nick Clack, in the shadow of the Cascade Range, where the mountains meet the sea. This Pacific Northwest artist crafts music that exudes the foggy moodiness of the land, rain soaked soft greens, towering timber and dramatic emotional winds. The lyrics ring of adventure, loss, life and the human condition. JP Moynahan, Author of The Traveler’s Wake
“The goal has always been to create something that’s honest and tells a story; something that everyone can identify with. Music that resonates and stays true to our shared experiences.” Nick Clack

The Preacher & The Freight Train are an acoustic guitar and blues harp duo adding drums and bass for a full band experience hailing from the great Whatcom County. The band is comprised of Walker VanWingerden on guitar/vocals and Mark “The Freight Train” Wheeler on Harmonica. Upon their first meeting the stars aligned and the two quickly became soul brothers determined, together, to rock as many stages as possible.
You can expect to hear many original songs inspired by life, experience, and the beauty of the PNW. As well, the band delivers many classic tunes and bluesy cuts. The energy is soulful, spiritual, dusty magic. Sure to thrill and entice. Watch out because The Preacher & The Freight Train are rollin’ down the track and they’ve got a message to share with you!
