Chris Severin is a New Orleans-based master bassist and educator who hails from the Tremé neighborhood, studied at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) and Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO), and has built a versatile career performing jazz, R&B, hip-hop and more—often on custom seven-string and acoustic bass—playing with top names like Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, and the Marsalis brothers, while also teaching jazz and bass at NOCCA and mentoring younger musicians.     For this performance, Severin is joined by an all-star band and a trio of some of New Orleans’ top female vocalists and features: Chris Severin - bass Nayo Jones - vocals Barbara Shorts - vocals Ellen Smith - vocals Kenny Brown - guitar Chucky C. - saxophone Herman Jackson - drums Clarence Johnson - saxophone Marlow Jordan - trumpet Darryl Lavigne - piano Doors: 4:30 pm Show: 5 - 6 pm Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro presents live weekly concerts.
