Dance/Electronic
Chee
Chee
Dance/Electronic
Following several years of lateral experimentation in sound design, South African producer CHEE’s unique hybrid sound erupted into the international domain in 2016 with the release of his Shrodinger EP on Dutch label Underslung and several self-releases. His sonic innovation quickly caught the attention of prime heads in electronica, with tracks featured on leading Youtube portals such as Inspector Dubplate and with Noisia featuring Chee and side project IT HZ tracks on their radio show. With growing hype around his fresh approach and uncompromising bass experimentation with a heavy dancefloor edge, labels started to take a deeper interest.
Doorways opened across labels from a variety of genres, with drum & bass focused TYPE91, CLOSE2DEATH and ALGORITHM releasing his fierce take on the sound, whilst rapidly rising bass labels UPSCALE and RENRAKU delivered his raw trap and futurebeat // halfstep influenced material in its full devastating glory. His assured arc of fresh ideas took a firm step in 2017, with the release of his first full-length album FEAR MONGER on SATURATE RECORDS with 12 tracks of pure Chee sound that unfurled a mutant leviathan of bass and demonstrated utterly the potential of one of the most promising names in low-end heavy electronica.
Taking influences liberally from his surroundings and combining them into a complex pastiche of audio that has its origins in visual inspirations of visceral art and various theories incubated in the dynamic folds of the internet, as well as in the music that he wraps himself in from the likes of Noisia, Moody Good, Amon Tobin, Skrillex, Ivy Lab and Tsuruda – creators who are pushing at the very fringes of sonic possibility. Chee’s sound has the potential to develop into a genre in its own right – evading being pigeon-holed and classified due to his unrelenting urge to experiment and explore fresh and ill sounds.

Tsuruda
Dance/Electronic
First debuting in 2014, Los Angeles bass producer Tsuruda is a classically trained musician who blends experimental hip-hop with avant-garde electronics. Today, he stands at the upper echelon of bass music culture with one of the most impressive bodies of work in independent electronic music.
Tsuruda has self-released four full-length projects — ‘drumsand,’ ‘madness,’ ‘rawflavor’ and ‘RIP’ — in addition to his two-part compilation series, ‘Internet Slaps Vol. 1’ and ‘Internet Slaps Vol. 2.’ His discography includes singles on labels like Team Supreme, Darker Than Wax and 1985 Music, plus remixes for Noisia, The Glitch Mob and more.
In June 2017, Tsuruda released ‘Move,’ his official debut artist album, on Noisia’s Division Recordings. He followed up with ‘Unlimited Data’ (Oct. 2018), his second artist album, released on Courteous Family, the Los Angeles artist collective/record label he co-founded in 2014. His independently released ‘FUBAR’ EP (Oct. 2019), distributed by Alpha Pup, includes standout singles “Dragon of the Darkness Flame” and “Kimchi Crisis,” plus “Little Mac,” a collaboration with Mr. Carmack.
An in-demand live act, Tsuruda is known for his mind-bending sets. He’s performed at EDC Las Vegas, Electric Forest, Shambhala Music Festival and more. In 2018, Tsuruda was handpicked as one of the select artists to close out the influential Los Angeles event series, Low End Theory.

Potions
Experimental Electro
Potions is an electronic music project by Hunter Braymer of Santa Cruz, California. Blending a variety of tempos and styles, Braymer's music walks the line between experimental psychedelia and a danceable, narrative experience. Emphasizing unique rhythmic and melodic cadence in cohesion with a dedicated exploration of distortion and atonality, potions' music seeks to provide a full spectrum audio experience derived from a broad range of influences.

Drum 'n' Bass
A Hundred Drums
A Hundred Drums
Drum 'n' Bass
Thunderous low end and pulsating rhythm embody the powerful music of A Hundred Drums.
Stomping the stage in a tangle of hair and a blur of motion, her high-octane live show is the result of years of searching for that perfect primal pulse that connects humans on the dance floor. Since she was a teenager, Gabrielle Watson has been cultivating a sound that encapsulates experimental hip-hop, psychedelic bass, and indigenous hand drums. After a decade of crafting her sonic signature in cutting-edge spaces, A Hundred Drums has emerged onto the main stage to bring the sounds of the underground to the masses.
In early Summer 2021, A Hundred Drums released a politically potent EP on ZEDS DEAD’s Deadbeats label. Enough Is Enough outlines the struggles of being Black in America, set against the backdrop of police violence, systemic racism, and the protest movement still pervasive in a world one year removed from the death of George Floyd. Unlike anything the powerhouse bass label has ever released, a mini-documentary companion piece gave fans an inside look at the making of the record. Through it, Watson tells the story of her own mistreatment at the hands of the police and the genesis of the music and message she so desperately needed to convey. In an industry saturated with vapid party anthems, A Hundred Drums chose to use her platform to deliver substance alongside sound.
Watson cut her teeth in dark and sweaty basements showcasing icons of the UK dubstep and drum & bass scenes and has traveled to far flung psytrance festivals to hone her mixing skills. ‘AHD’ now gets to share lineups with some of the biggest acts in all of electronic music and collaborate with some of the most sought after producers and vocalists across a multitude of genres. She kicks off 2022 as a handpicked support act for REZZ’s blockbuster North American tour. Major festival dates loom large on the calendar. A series of singles, collaborations, and mixes stack up in the pipeline. A Hundred Drums has arrived and with her comes the promise of a new generation of bass producers in ascendance.
