Born from a spontaneous rooftop jam beneath a stormy sky, Coatimundi is a brand new, innovative collaboration of three diverse Phoenix-based artists. Its members are: celebrated self-taught pianist and electronic music whiz Mark Dorris, New York City native vocalist/writer/coach Bel Holiday, and conservatory-trained classical cellist/educator Emily Yates. Initially drawing from ethereal avante-garde influences such as Björk, FKA Twigs, and Aurora, the group has evolved to incorporate live looping,mixing and electronic dance beats. At their core lies the trio’s symbiotic relationship with Ecstatic Dance. They aim to curate largely improvised musical experiences inspired by this healing somatic practice.
