Eli & The Hot Six + Rebecca Sullivan is a hot new jazz ensemble that plays in a new style they call Contemporary Classic Jazz. Led by tuba virtuoso, Eli Newberger, they feature swinging New Orleans rhythms that propel brilliant instrumental soloists alongside a stunning singer, Rebecca Sullivan. The band programs its shows with great finesse, colorfully mixing enchanting mini-ensembles alongside thrilling, full-throated evocations of traditional jazz favorites, show tunes and pop songs from the 1920s to the 1960s as it draws its material equally from George Gershwin as from Louis Armstrong and doesn't shy away from rare ragtime like "Oh By Jingo" and esoteric Ellingtonia like "Sqeeze Me, But Don't Tease Me!"
