Fans of The Who will not want to miss this amazing tribute to one of the world's best loved bands. Ellis and Phil have joined forces to form The Amazing Pinball Wizard Orchestra, performing The Who's best hits and deeper cuts backed by Carla Prather (Poi Dog Pondering), Jordy Kozer & Charlie Short of The Webstirs.
Ellis Clark has been a longtime fixture of the Chicago music community working as a performing musician, singer-songwriter, recording artist and record producer. He was a founding member and front man for the band Epicycle and later Social Act which in combination have released numerous albums.
Clark recently released his debut solo album “LP NUMBER ONE” on the CAUDog Record Label as a red vinyl LP. Clark’s wide range of producer/engineering/session player credits include working on records with Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), American Idol Star Crystal Bowersox, 90’s indie pop favorite The Chamber Strings, co-producer of all Kevin Tihista & Red Terror’s albums released on Atlantic Records and Broken Horse, John Ashton from The Psychedelic Furs, The Handcuffs (who‘s songs have been featured on many nationally syndicated TV shows aired on MTV, PBS, A&E, VH1, NBC and ABC), and produced the late Nikki Sudden’s “Red Brocade” album (with Jeff Tweedy of Wilco).
Clark was signed to Paramount Picture’s publishing division Famous Music. He co-founded Cirkle Records & Idiot Savant Records and is currently Producer for all albums released on the CAUDog Records label. He is now proud to be part of CAU, which has a shared dedication to the development of new artists. In his career, he has shared the bill with Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Blondie, Dave Davies (The Kinks), Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze), UB40, The Neville Brothers, Evan Dando from The Lemonheads, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and SNL star Chris Farley to name a few.
Phil Angotti has become a household name in the international power-pop world. He has toured North America and Europe extensively where he's always a hit. His appearances at the International Pop Overthrow Festivals in New York and Los Angeles have drawn great attention. We are lucky that Phil calls Chicago his hometown. Known for his strong lead vocals and versatile harmony singing, Phil is also an innovative guitarist. His style is a diverse mixture of British 60's power pop, American folk rock, and modern guitar pop, played with an explosive energy and sensibility. As a songwriter - he has proven again and again he can write melodies and hooks with the best of them and has penned numerous original songs (over 120 recorded to date). It should also be noted that Phil is one of the best performers of Who music to date. He is also well loved and respected by even the most critical of Beatle fans who have seen him interpret their songs at Beatle-Fest in Liverpool to great reception. He's even performed with some of the musicians that had worked with the Beatles including Alan White (of Yes) and Neil Innes (of The Rutles/The Bonzo Dog Band).
His most recent album "Life & Rhymes" has been met with great enthusiasm from both fans and press alike. Phil has received extensive college radio play and has been heard on commercial radio including WXRT, both on Richard Milne's Local Anesthetic and Time Capsule Shows.
