Description
CatchLight Live is an immersive evening experience that blends powerful photojournalism with music and live storytelling. The program will feature lighting talks with visuals by photographers, large-scale projections of photo essays by local Chicago, National, and International visual journalists, all accompanied by a live band.
In partnership with the largest journalism conference in the country, ONA, and Borderless Magazine, the program will feature live storytelling by Camilla Forte (Borderless Magazine, CatchLight Local / RFA fellow), Zimbo Gessert, a stage actor sharing the story of a young man’s journey from Myanmar to Chicago, excerpted from the Sanctuary Stories project, developed by Emmy-winning professor, Craig Duff (Northwestern). It will also feature visual stories by local and national photographers, set to a live score by a quartet from The Chicago Jazz Soul Collective.
CatchLight Live: Sharing What Matters in Chicago is presented with support from the Enlight Foundation, The Joyce Foundation, Robert’s Camera, and CatchLight’s education partner, PhotoWings.
