Cantrip is an Old Scots word meaning a charm, spell, or act of mischief, and it aptly describes the compelling potency of this band! Cantrip sprung from a session in Edinburgh nearly twenty years ago: swirling border pipes, raging fiddle, thunderous guitar, and three rich voices combine to create a sound that has garnered them rave reviews in the UK & Europe and in the USA. Cantrip is Dan Houghton (pipes, whistles, flute, bouzouki, guitar, vocals), Jon Bews (fiddle,  vocals), Alasdair White (fiddle) whom many Rochester fans will remember from Daimh, and Eric McDonald (guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, vocals). Their first time at Lovin’ Cup, don’t miss it!
