Jimmy Greene’s rise to respected prominence began in 1999 when he was named one of DownBeat Magazine’s “25 Young Rising Stars in Jazz .” The saxophonist’s mentors included Jackie McLean, Jim McNeely, and David Liebman; he’s recorded and/or performed with such artists as Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Harry Connick, Jr., and Kenny Barron, just to name a few.
