Catch Matt Jacob and Jack Riley of NYC’s soul-infused rock group The Matt Jacob Band for a stripped-down brunch set, channeling their gritty blend of alt-rock, soul, and jam-band energy into originals and beloved covers.   Matt Jacob is a singer-songwriter with a husky voice and psychedelic groove that continues to evolve through multiple incarnations of his musical journey. He’s performed as far away as Trondheim University (in northern Norway), led musical summer programs for kids in Switzerland, and has found great humility as a volunteer for Musicians On Call singing songs at hospitals for patients at their bedsides. In 2021, he self recorded/produced/released his first songs as a solo artist and enlisted a friend to create a light hearted, colorful and ‘trippy’ video for his song 'Chakra Song'. In 2022, he found himself missing the stage, so he began laying the groundwork to form a band in 2023. In 2023, the Matt Jacob Band was formed. The band consists of Matt Jacob, Sean Decker (bass), Jack Riley (keys) and Jared Decker (drums). Major influences include: The Grateful Dead, Goose, Dr. John, Van Morrison and a general love for Motown and jam band music. Like all new teams, nothing can replace time and practice; 2023 saw the band performing monthly at NYC’s beloved Rockwood Music Hall (including several rare residency shows). The band also cut their teeth at the historic Bitter End, and Garwood, NJ’s gem Crossroads. As of later the band has also been performing and growing a following outside the city via places like The Garage at Lucy’s (Pleasant ville, NY) and Daryl’s House (Pawling, NY). Equally as important, the band, being well rehearsed and having tested material live, cut a five song EP at Mercy Sound Studio (Mickey Hart, Katy Perry, Blondie, The Killers, Demi Lovato) in NYC. The single ‘Hold On’ is streaming on all major platforms.
