Mike Burns has been playing out professionally for the last forty years. Mike has played at Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Joe Val Bluegrass Festival, Long Island Bluegrass and Roots Festival and Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival to name a few.
Mike songs “ Walk The Waters Edge“ and “ Send the Angels Down From Heaven“ have won awards in the Chris Austin songwriters contest at Merlefest held in Wilkesboro, NC.
Mike Song “My Darling“ was recorded by Mark Newton and Valarie Smith and is on Mark’s “Follow Me Back To The Fold“ on Rebel Records which won “Recorded Event of the Year “ at IBMA ’s World of Bluegrass held in Louisville KY!
Mike currently plays out with his band “ Mike Burns Highway 53 “, along with Tom Hagymasi fiddle, button accordion, and David Dunaway on bass.
Mike also runs the Westchester Bluegrass Club which holds monthly concerts and jams on the third Saturday of the month.
