Award winning songwriter Mike Burns resides in Purdys, NY .
Mike has been playing out in the Tri State area for 25 years, his original material has won awards at Merlefest ' Chris Austin Songwriters Contest for his song "Walk The Water's Edge" and "Send The Angels Down From Heaven." His song "My Darling" was recorded by Mark Newton and Valarie Smith and is on Mark's album "Follow me back To The Fold" on Rebel records. This Album won "Recorded Event Of The Year" at IBMA in Louisville, KY back in 2001!
Mike continues to play out with "Mike Burns and Highway 53," and he also runs the Westchester Bluegrass Club in Purdys, NY . Mike Burns and Highway 53 consists of Mike Burns Guitar and Vocal, David Dunaway Bass, and Michael Sassano mandolin.
