  • Skyfoot

    Skyfoot

    Jam Bands

Skyfoot is a powerful jam-rock band from Boston, MA that plays a variety of genres from funk, rock, reggae & bluegrass to sonic landscapes and fusion.  Their live shows consist of mostly original songs with tight compositions and improvisational jamming which yield memorable peaks and valleys.  Each unpredictable performance varies with each location and feature in-the-moment unpremeditated occurrences that are recorded and archived.  If you dig the sounds of Phish, The Derek Trucks Band, Bruce Hornsby, Grateful Dead, you’ll be stoked you heard Skyfoot!

Forming in early 2011, Skyfoot has played 300+ shows all across the United States, and has supported acts such as Aqueous, Consider The Source, McLovins, Hornitz, Otis Grove, Mr. F, Big Mean Sound Machine, and Haley Jane and the Primates.  You'll find them rocking New England regularly, making their way down the eastern seaboard in the Carolinas and Virginias, and on occasion, touring the Northwest U.S. with shows in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.

Tyler Arnott, on guitar and vocals, thoughtfully threads through songs and jams with his genuine and tasty finger style playing.  Eric McEwen, on keyboards and lead vocals, confidently blazes melodic trails while voicing mellifluous lyrics.  James Taylor, on bass, provides the low end of the spectrum with a quiet fury.  Aaron Morey, on drums, fills out the rest with a dynamic approach to jam drumming with reverence to all the best drummers of the jam-band scene.

Skyfoot's 2012 debut album “Eternal Bend” features nine original songs including favorites Maybe Mississippi, Indigo, and The Mountain.  July 2014  the band released their 2nd studio album entitled "Room For Space" recorded in West Springfield, MA at the Rotary Records.

Inspired by groups including the Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Phish, TAUK, John Scofield, Queens of the Stone Age, and many others, Whistlebot creates original music that straddles the intersections of jazz and rock, orchestration and improvisation, brooding jams and bright grooves.

    Patrick Gaughan - Bass
    John Diggins - Guitar

In the fall of 2009, John and Dave met and began collaborating while enrolled at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After living in separate locales throughout the United States, the band's founding members all found themselves in the Greater Boston area in the summer of 2015. The quartet began writing and performing as Whistlebot later that year, with keyboardist Andrew Warnock joining in 2017 to round out the five-piece lineup.
