Breaking Badfinger is a group of musician friends from Columbus, Ohio, formed in 2024 with a shared love for the music of Badfinger. What began as a project for a one-time benefit performance has since grown into a full-scale celebration of Badfinger’s incredible catalog of hits and deep cuts.
The band’s members are a tight-knit crew with a shared history in various Columbus bands, who have joined forces to bring the music of the legendary 1970s group to life. Will Christofferson (guitar and vocals), John Estep (guitar and vocals), Kerry Stewart (bass and vocals), and Thomas Martin (guitar and vocals) harmonize and share lead vocals, while recreating the layered guitar work that made Badfinger’s sound so unique. Carolyn O'Leary (drums) provides the rock-solid rhythm, and Scott Lee (piano) adds depth and soul to the band’s signature sound.
With a deep respect for Badfinger’s musical legacy, the band brings authenticity and heart to their tribute. Whether they’re rocking through "No Matter What" or delivering the soulful "Sweet Tuesday Morning," Breaking Badfinger is dedicated to keeping the spirit of Badfinger alive and honoring their legacy for both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
Breaking Badfinger will be at Woodland’s Tavern May 31, 2025. CG2 featuring Colin Gawel and Dave Masica will open.
