Boojum is an art band from Brooklyn. Blending elements of funk and EDM with drama, dance and performance art, Boojum creates experimental shows that blur the lines between concert and theatre. The band features multi-instrumentalists Chris Mackin, Josh Santiago, Sarah Elaz, and Mike Coiro, with lyrics by Thomas Mackin, a poet and translator. Boojum was formed in 2023 by members of the production company Loop Troupe to create Electric Wonderland, a psychedelic concert adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. The Electric Wonderland project features over 40 original songs and has been performed at venues such as Brooklyn Bowl, The Sultan Room, and Brooklyn Art Haus.  The members of Boojum also founded, manage and are regularly featured in Bushwick’s Dead, an NYC jam collective with an ongoing residency at Brooklyn Bowl.  In 2026, Boojum debuted RITUAL, an all-new EDM dance show rooted in myth and the occult.

With roots that stretch from rap to punk, folk to funk, and psychedelia to rock ’n’ roll, Blahsum stitches it all together into something both nostalgic and completely new. Their songs channel the restless energy of NYC while warping classic sounds through a kaleidoscopic lens that is equal parts chaos, soul, and cosmic humor.
