Long Steel Rail cultivates and extends the traditions of American Acoustic Roots music.  Playing an eclectic mix of traditional and not-so- traditional stringband music, LSR sits at the confluence of many different musical streams. Led by Eric Marshall on vocals and guitar and featuring many of his original songs, Long Steel Rail delivers a distinctive and infectious blend of Bluegrass and Classic Country tinged with Gypsy Swing, Honky Tonk, Irish, Blues, Rockabilly and other ingredients that spice up the rich gumbo of American music. Traditional instrumentation is combined with a contemporary sensibility and material is drawn from the whole gamut in between. In recent years LSR has performed at the Clearwater Festival, been showcased by the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association and has been featured at festivals and celebrations throughout the greater Hudson Valley. LSR as pleased to make their debut at Daryl’s House and will showcase material from their forthcoming CD.
