Betty Shirley is a renowned jazz vocalist and visual artist based in New Orleans, known for her rich, expressive voice and improvisational style that blends jazz, blues, R&B, and bossa nova. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, and raised in Chicago, she studied music in New York before settling in New Orleans in the early ’90s. She has performed at iconic venues like Snug Harbor and festivals including Jazz Fest and Essence Fest, sharing stages with legends such as Ellis Marsalis and Benny Green. Honored as a Jazz All-Star by New Orleans Magazine and a Big Easy Award winner, Shirley has released several acclaimed albums, including Unveiled, Close Your Eyes, and With the Red Organ Trio, solidifying her legacy as a vital force in the city’s jazz scene. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.
