Erik “Bergie” Bergeson is an American multi-instrumentalist whose playful songwriting style is much like his personality, playful and friendly yet deeply creative and risk taking. His power pop musical stylings meet indie folk style lyrics that are catchy and tell many stories. He’s releasing his debut full length album, inspired by his time living in NYC, Trash to the Trash Gods. In NYC, Bergie met many of the best friends he’s ever had. With each experience he had in New York City that was intentional and nourishing to Bergie’s soul, he’d still feel lonely. ”What we’re all hoping to find here, heaven only knows, here in the forest of lonely souls,” Bergie sings on the track “Forest of Lonely Souls,” an ode to the struggles of dating in NYC. ”For my 27th birthday, I gave myself the gift of leaving. I have stories to share with you all now. Each song, a love song,” Bergie says about the memories of his time living there. All of these memories and people inspired the different tracks of Trash to the Trash Gods. It’s the soundtrack for not only the constant motion of his own travels but for those who are constantly in motion. When he pictures someone listening, he sees them on a bike, in a plane, on the subway, and on the go. ”(Everybody’s Headed to) Brooklyn” and “Forest of Lonely Souls” are out now. “Lemonbrain” is out on 3/14 and Trash to the Trash Gods is out on Beautiful Rat Records on April 4, 2024. Tape and Tears
Tape and Tears
Folk
Tape and Tears a folk-pop-punk band based out of Northern Wisconsin, blending hauntingly honest lyricism with dirty and delicate vocalizations. Created by singer-songwriter Gilliana Hope with support from Quiver the Busker, the duo embraces DIY in every aspect of the project. Their instrumentation blends guitar, banjo, ukulele, cajon, and eclectic harmonizations. In the vein of artists Stick and Poke, Local News Legend and Toh Kay, Tape and Tears is ready to inject a soft and gritty energy into the folk-punk scene.
As their debut album Grace of Any Kind releases on February 13th, Tape and Tears is currently preparing to embark on a Midwest tour in March. Featured friends support Tape and Tears touring endeavors.
