Bantug is an independent artist out of Nashville, Tennessee, and has been creating music in some capacity for as long as she can remember. She started playing her brother’s drum kit at age four, learned to play guitar by age eight, and went on to play double bass in her middle school’s orchestra. Around this same time, Bantug branched out and began developing her songwriting skills. As her lyrics and melodies continued to develop, so did her passion.
Following high school, Bantug moved to Nashville to attend an accelerated music program, but instead, she took a different direction. She found a community of close friends who let her experiment with their different styles of production and engineering, which gave her space to create a sound all her own. Bantug’s first single, “Waiting,” dropped in December of 2015, and she has released her first EP, Blue in March 2017. She’s been featured on Indie Shuffle, Girls Are Awesome, GoodMusicAllDay, and GoldFlakePaint.
