Tristan Shone, the creative core of Author & Punisher, started the project in 2004, setting out to craft devices (machines) as a force multiplier. That he could control machines to trigger a myriad of sound objects (synths et al.) was not just heuristic but revolutionary. Shone’s mechanical engineering and art background functioned perfectly as a catalyst to his songwriter form. To date, Author & Punisher has seven lauded full-lengths and one EP, the latest of which is Krüller. Shone’s unconventional yet assiduous methods with music and machine have landed crucial collaborations with Perturbator’s James Kent, and Tool’s Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor, who appear on Krüller tracks “Misery” and “Centurion,” respectively.

Morne, formed in 2005, is a heavy, atmospheric band based in Boston, Massachusetts. Their style blends doom metal and classic British crust but stretches beyond those boundaries, combining a bleak lyrical style with driving riffs. The band has toured the US, Canada and Europe, where they have been part of large festivals such as Roadburn, Hellfest, Psycho Las Vegas and Quebec Deathfest.

Austin, TX trio GLASSING are set to unleash a new EP featuring two songs of sludgy, blackened fury on Dire and Sulk, their first recordings since 2021's critically acclaimed full-length Twin Dream. Dire and Sulk showcases GLASSING at their most violent, chaotic state yet still provides moments of refined clarity and depressing beauty. Marking the first recordings with drummer, Scott Osment (Deaf Club, Weak Flesh) who adds an entirely new dynamic, these recordings further solidify the Texas trio as architects of a new wave in heavy music.
