  • Au Revoir Simone

    Pop

The Brooklyn indie pop outfit Au Revoir Simone features Heather D'Angelo (vocals/drum machine/keyboard), Erika Forster (vocals/keyboard), and Annie Hart (vocals/keyboard). Borrowing their name from a minor character in the Tim Burton comedy Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, the Casio-centric group came together in late 2003, when Forster and Hart befriended one another while traveling by train from Vermont to New York. From there, they became fast friends and began writing songs together. D'Angelo and Sung Bin Park (keyboard/vocals) were added to the dreamy pop fray after contributing to many practice sessions, but Park left in January 2005 to pursue other projects.

A year later, Au Revoir Simone issued their debut album, Verses of Comfort, Assurance & Salvation. It was self-released in the United States and appeared on the Moshi Moshi label throughout Europe. Additionally, the song "Through the Backyards" was included in the season finale to Grey's Anatomy that spring, thus boosting the trio's profile. Au Revoir Simone's second album, The Bird of Music, was released one year later, while a track-by-track remix of the record appeared in 2008 under the title Reverse Migration. The trio's third album, the critically acclaimed 'Still Night, Still Light,' was produced by Thom Monahan and released by Our Secret Record Company in spring of 2009. Following the release, the band felt they needed a break. After touring around the world and collaborating with artists such as Air and Johnny Marr, they took time off to do their own thing. Heather D’Angelo finished a degree in Environmental Biology, Erika Forster released a solo album under the moniker Erika Spring and Annie Hart toured with the artists Uninhabitable Mansions and Pursesnatchers.

After a four-year hiatus, the trio release their long awaited new single, ‘Somebody Who’. A lush, dancey track, ‘Somebody Who’ is layered with keyboards and beautiful, airy harmonies. The single is taken from the forthcoming album, ‘Move In Spectrums,’ Produced by Violens’ Jorge Elbrecht. The album is an honest refraction of three lives weaving together in a thirst for life, sensation, truth and love. One listen to ‘Move In Spectrums’ confirms what you already knew but didn’t know how to say – that you missed this band and you’re damn glad that they’re back.

  • Lou Doillon

    Lou Doillon

    Singer-Songwriter

Lou Doillon may not carry her mother Jane Birkin’s surname yet she’s clearly inherited her family’s musical sensibility. Her debut album, 'Places' was released in 2012. Taking cues from Cat Power and Patti Smith, Doillon weaves through her melodies with an elegance she inherently possesses. Doillon was brought into this world as the daughter of iconic English singer Jane Birkin. Doillon’s papa, Jacques Doillon, is known as one of the greatest French indie movie directors. With this much talent surging through a family its possible Lou Doillon’s path was predetermined. The end of 2013 will see Lou on the roads of Europe, the USA and Australia.

“Music has turned into nothing more than just a rush in the background while you are busy doing other things. I don’t want to change that, but I try to make something that will catch your ear and communicate with you.” – Azier.

Thomas Azier is an electronic-pop artist based in Berlin. Early in 2012 he released his debut EP “Hylas 001” featuring the single “Red Eyes”, a live favorite of audiences across Europe and the United States. He is now set to release a 2nd EP „Hylas 002“, which again appears on his label “Hylas Records/BMG”.

“The mood of “Hylas002” arises from the sublime essence of solitude” Azier explains. Within the darkness of the ever-transforming city he explores the nature of isolation through conscious introspection; examining the process of becoming a shadow of oneself.

Azier wrote and produced all of the songs himself, with only help from co-producer and sound designer Robin Hunt. During an extensive tour this year Thomas will present his new material live on stage, while also supporting Woodkid on several live dates. In the meantime the 24-year old multi-instrumentalist is working on his biggest project yet; his debut album. The third part within the Hylas trilogy, due out in Summer 2013.
