Singer-Songwriter
Denitia
Denitia
Singer-Songwriter
On her new album, Sunset Drive, Denitia shares her story of going after something new — a life back in Nashville, where she attended college, immersed in both the city’s roots music scene and the community of the artist collective Black Opry — while experiencing the menagerie of emotions that come with leaving behind what you knew and starting over. Across the album, she draws from the country and alternative rock music she listened to growing up outside of Houston; the songs of artists such as the Eagles, Vince Gill, Waylon Jennings, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, and Neil Young, ever present in her life; and the decade she spent entrenched in Brooklyn’s indie music scene.
Denitia’s music has been featured in the films Nanny and The Invitation, as well as in the series Better Things (FX), Broad City (Comedy Central), Dear White People (Netflix), Shrinking (Apple TV+), and The Terminal List (Amazon). She has toured extensively with the Black Opry Revue; been invited to perform at the National Museum of African American Music and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville; and shared stages with Amythyst Kiah, Joy Oladokun, and Allison Russell, among other artists.
In 2023, Denitia earned one of five spots in a residency hosted by the Black Opry and WXPN, was named to Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country class, and was one of three artists selected for CMT and mtheory’s Equal Access cohort. And the momentum has continued in 2024: Denitia is one of CMT’s 2024 Next Women of Country; was named an artist to watch by the Nashville Scene in January; made her Grand Ole Opry debut this summer; and is opening shows for Mickey Guyton this fall.

Sally Jaye
Folk
Sally Jaye grew up in Georgia amongst a cast of family characters from carnies to hairdressers to cotton ginners. It’s the details mixed with humor and heartbreak in her storytelling that have garnered comparisons to southern gothic writer, Flannery O’Connor, with songs that have been recorded in the last two years by artists such as Grammy-nominated, hit songwriter, Brent Cobb and country artist/songwriter, Leah Blevins. Besides her critically acclaimed solo album, Amarillo, and her forthcoming album produced by Brent Cobb and recorded at the legendary Capricorn Studios in Macon, GA, she has also written and recorded albums with the psychedelic Appalachian duo, Pink Birds (formerly Ladies Gun), two live Gospel albums in a historic church in Newton, NC and an experimental punk trio, The Rodgers.
Her songs have been featured in multiple primetime network television shows and feature films, including co-writing the end credits song for If Only (starring Jennifer Love Hewitt) and tracked at Abbey Road with the London Symphony Orchestra. She also appeared in the indie film Too Late, acting and playing her songs alongside two-time Oscar nominated, Jon Hawkes. Some may also know her as a recurring character for two seasons in the CBS prime time television show, Christy, starring Tess Harper, Kellie Martin, and Tyne Daly where she was also featured singing with the legendary Judy Collins.
In 2025, Sally Jaye will release her new solo album and has been added as a Georgia College artist in residence in March, where she will commemorate the 100th birthday of Flannery O’Connor with a concert at Andalusia, O’Connor’s historic farm and home. Throughout her touring career she has shared the stage and/or collaborated with artists such as Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, Allison Moorer, Civil Wars Shooter Jennings, Billie Joe Shaver, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Brian Wright, Brent Cobb and the Zac Brown Band.
