Andrew Oliver - Nick Rossi Quartet (Portland/San Francisco)
Portland's 1920s and 30s piano specialist and bandleader Andrew Oliver teams up with San Francisco swing guitar master Nick Rossi for a night of swinging 1930s sounds at the Jack London. Nick is a long-time fixture on the swing music scene in California, frequently playing for dancing and listening with his Swing Four and Six, as well as interpreting Duke Ellington's music with his Jazzopators. In addition, he has been involved in a variety of educational and historical projects over the years as well. Andrew's band, the Bridgetown Sextet, is Portland's premier vintage jazz band, playing hot music of the 1920s and 30s for Northwest audiences for over 15 years. In addition, Andrew is active playing festivals throughout the U.S. and Europe solo and with the Oliver-Smith Incomparables.
 
For this gig, Andrew and Nick will be joined by Garner Pruitt on trumpet and David Evans on clarinet and saxophone, both long-time fixtures of Portland's swing scene with the Midnight Serenaders and Hot Lovin' Jazz Babies, as well as by the Bridgtown Sextet rhythm section of Eric Gruber on bass and Tyson Stubelek on drums. Expect an evening of swinging and groovy music!
