INTRODUCING AMÈLIE FARREN
DEBUT ALBUM AIRHEADED OUT NOW
ALONGSIDE FOCUS SINGLE ‘OCEAN SOUNDS’
Introducing Amèlie Farren. At just 17 years of age, Brisbane singer-songwriter and alt-folk/alt-pop artist, has an innate sense of storytelling. Her introspective, poetic lyrics forge intricate wordplay and vivid metaphors that delve into deep and sometimes sombre themes. This, coupled with energetic hooks, cinematic swells and uplifting melodies, produces a sound that is layered with complexity, is thought-provoking, and speaks to those navigating life’s chaos, offering solace in shared experiences.
On her debut album Airheaded, Amèlie showcases her signature melancholic tone and lyrical depth. Airheaded is a novella - a collection of short stories and chapters that weave together to encapsulate a sense of profound introspection. It’s Amèlie deep in thought and feeling, each song an evocative and vivid narrative of experiences, dreams and ideas that feel ultimately reflective, relatable and nostalgic. Amelie has always had a strong sense, with her head in the clouds, that songwriting is a tether to reality. Airheaded was titled as a testament to that.
The album was written about complicated and generally unhealthy dynamics in relationships, and how different people cope. Many of the tracks follow related themes, like ‘pickuppickuppickuppickup’, which is written from a stalker’s perspective, while ‘TREAT YOU LIKE A DOG’ is about someone being stalked. ‘shiverrr’, ‘Jump The Gun’ and ‘CLEMENTINE’ all follow the concept of obsession. “It’s an accumulation of memories, experiences and conversations, fragments of night terrors,” says Amelie. “... it all got wrapped up together in my head and now it’s an album!” With songwriting solely credited to Amèlie, Airheaded was recorded and produced by Michael Keenan (G-Eazy & Bebe Rexia, Melanie Martinez) at his home studio in LA.
‘Ocean Sounds’, the second track and focus single from Airheaded, acts as an introductory piece to the album, with most of the lyrics featuring nods and references to the songs that follow. “I wrote ‘Ocean Sounds’ about the feeling of desperation that comes from realising you’re about to lose something you desperately want to keep, even though you know it’s only going to hurt you in the long run,” reflects Amelie. triple j Unearthed’s Claire Mooney has granted high praise for the single, stating, “A siren spell from Amelie Farren here. Divine!” with Sarah Davenport (triple j) adding “I yearn for the world building within this track.”
Beginning her musical journey at eight, Amèlie joined the Sydney Children’s Choir and began writing her own songs at the age of 12. In late 2022 she began posting online, minimalistic in her settings and recognised by two blue dots beneath her eyes. Those clips built a community around vulnerability and craft. Her first official release ‘suffering’ (2022) has since clocked over 15 million streams but it was ‘Unsweetened Lemonade’ (2024) that awoke a global fanbase from their slumber - from the US, UK, Canada, Europe, Australia, parts of Asia and South America. It became her quiet lightning strike, amassing 60 millions of streams and turning listeners into engaged and enthusiastic fans.
Earlier this year, Amèlie supported Amy Shark on her Solo Acoustic “Songs & Stories” Tour throughout January and March as well as Rag ‘n’ Bone Man’s Australian tour in March before headlining shows across UK and Europe and two showcase’s at Bigsound.
The comments from her loyal community of fans speak volumes with one fan stating “Your voice is hypnotizingly beautiful and I’m beyond excited for this album.” and another “melodies are haunting and beautiful. Can’t get enough.” The path before Amèlie Farren is radiant, wide, and waiting.

Music
Gavriella is the rising pop star you need to be paying attention to. Singer, songwriter, and producer, she's known for interlacing biting lyrics into cinematic pop anthems. Melding country influences from her southern roots with disco, her music carves out a space in-between, something that is best described as orchestral-pop; an oscillation between Abba-inspired synth pop, glam rock, and disco, delivering unabashedly honest lyricism decorated with sonic glitter.
Gavriella's 2025 momentum is evident with headlining a near sold out show at Bottom of The Hill, and amassing 30k streams on her song "Loser Takes It All" released in September.
