  • Falguni Shah (Falu)
  • Clarence Peen
  • Yasushi Nakamura

Comprised of four Americans from different cultural backgrounds, the American Patchwork Quartet (APQ) performs centuries-old American songs made new with creative arrangements connecting contemporary cultures and immigrant roots. Led by GRAMMY®-winning vocalist Falu, GRAMMY®-winning guitarist/vocalist Clay Ross, three-time GRAMMY®-winning drummer Clarence Penn, and acclaimed bassist Yasushi Nakamura. Experience their vibrant musical narrative celebrating America's cultural tapestry.

The band binds timeless American folk songs with jazz sophistication, country twang, West African hypnotics, and East Asian ornamentation. APQ’s sound is a masterful confluence of tradition and innovation, transcending culture, politics, and ideology.  The band resonates as a potent symbol of unity in diversity and stands testament to the notion that, from a collage of varied backgrounds, a coherent and beautiful whole can be fashioned.
