ALEXA ROSE & JOSH OLIVER BIO
Having spent her life in Appalachia,
Alexa Rose writes songs inspired by the rolling landscapes of the Blue Ridge and the resilience of the natural world. Rolling Stone says “she writes and sings with the conviction of someone who’s spent night after night on the front porch, the Alleghany Mountains in the foreground, spinning details of the day’s hardships into music.”
Josh Oliver is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter from east Tennessee. He has spent the past decade touring with Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange), and has recorded with Rachel Baiman, Andrew Marlin, Tyler Childers, among others.
Both influenced by life in the Appalachian mountains and the intersections of traditional and modern folk music, Josh and Alexa craft a musical experience centered around haunting harmonies, spellbinding melodies and storytelling lyrics.
