Alayne May released her first EP, “Home is Coming,” in October 2020. Written and produced within the first few months of the pandemic, it presents youthful optimism through a blend of country, bluegrass, and indie-folk. “Home is Coming” pairs Alayne’s clear and emotive singing with masterful contributions from Aaron Smith (bass) and Andrew Krull (guitar, banjo, mandolin).
Her newest work embraces a harder, more indie-rock sound. “Strange Beings” is co-produced by Nick Levine (Jodi, Pinegrove) and Seth Engel (Options). It features contributions from Levine (pedal steel), Engel (drums), Krull (guitar, banjo), and Will Kyriazis (piano). “Strange Beings” explores intimate relationships, depression, trauma, and fear.
