BAD OPTICS is an art punk band from Seattle known for their confrontational and provocative songwriting, engaging and enraging audiences up and down the Cascadia region. Their songs center on off-kilter rhythms and broken time signatures that slice their riffs into pieces, circular and interlocking guitar melodies, and vocals ranging from a quiet whisper to the manic bark of the desperate (mostly the latter, if we're being honest). Lyrically the band touches on such fun and lighthearted subjects as 20th century French nationalism, the encroaching heat death of the planet, and whether or not your friends like you (they don't).    

Dining Dead is a Seattle-based music project consisting of Seattle natives Emma Hayes (guitar) and Sammy Skidmore (vocals, guitar) with Bogie Pieper (drums) and Shannon Hargis (bass), hailing from Monterey, CA and Nashville, TN respectively. Dining Dead is a blend of West Coast style and the American South, combining moody, melancholy twang and soul-baring songwriting with edgy, lyric heavy, surf rock-inspired licks to create their unique Pacific Northwest-inspired sound. Dining Dead released its debut album, Medium Rare, in February of 2021 preceded by four singles and a five-song EP, Takeout. “This Seattle band’s debut full-length album is a promising set ranging from moody, folk-tinged rock reminiscent of Mazzy Star to crunchy, hook-filled indie rock,” says Don Yates, Music Director at KEXP.
