A View of Earth From the Moon + Frames in Motion + Leanne Wilkins & The Weathered

“rafters-rattling maximum power pop and lush, fully flowing romantic threnodies for people who have been aching for a big-sounding broken hearted new masterpiece for a while. All eras of widescreen jangle are tapped; all flavors of vibrant power pop are robustly present. ” –Paste Magazine
Seattle singer/songwriter Jonathan Fickes is behind A View of Earth from the Moon and its invigorating, classically Big Beat-kissed debut feels like a stunning emotional discovery; almost like seeing your existence for the first time from space. As he sings in the epic cloud-sweep of the single “Distance Runner,” ‘are you running away, or are you chasing something?’ -Huffington Post
“Seattle’s Jonathan Fickes has tapped many flavors in this release. The vintage sound and singing on “I Had to Go In to Come Back Out Again” that instantly channels Tom Petty. The blissful “How I Lost You” which has memorable intimacy and deep meaning and the standout track “Distance Runner” which has the ability to describe the wonders of the mind and is quite comical. –No Depression -

Since she began performing in 1998, Leanne has captured diverse audiences with her music. She’s always had an ear for strong melodies and catchy hooks, and it shows in her devotion to her craft as a songwriter. Through her lyrics, she explores topics that are both personal and relatable, expressing her perspectives on relationships, personal growth, and the search for truth.
Leanne discovered her passion for music at the age of four, and she devoted her childhood to studying piano. When she pivoted to playing guitar at age 16, she fell in love with Americana music. Through evolving influences and collaborations with other musicians, her style has been infused with elements of alt-country, roots rock and blues.
The Weathered formed in 2013, bringing an influx of unique influences and styles. Having withstood a few storms in life (not to mention the Seattle rain), the band has produced a moody Pacific Northwest rock vibe, accentuated by Leanne’s hauntingly beautiful melodies. Their latest EP, Ordinary Grey, is available on all major streaming services.
In the wake of the pandemic, Leanne found her way back to the piano, her musical roots, and her most authentic self. She wrote a new collection of songs, delving into the themes of death and rebirth, pain and redemption, regret and forgiveness. A new incarnation of The Weathered formed in 2023 with lead guitarist Derek Pulvino, bassist Clint Hoyler, and drummer Ben Loshin. The band plans to return to the studio in 2023 to make a new record.
