Description
This year, we celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Amy Winehouse's deeply confessional second and final studio album, Back to Black. We're still as moved by the album's beauty and power in 2026 as we were in 2006. Rachel Drew will be backed by John Szymanski, Michael Krayniak, Jason Batchko, Kenn Goodman, and Total Pro Horns (Max Crawford, Paul Von Mertens, and David E Smith). They will cover all of Back to Black, along with selections from her album Frank and choice bootlegs and live shows. Rachel Drew is known for her soulful voice and self-penned tunes that blend pop, rock, folk, and retro soul. Her latest album, Old Sky New, was recognized as one of the 13 Best Chicago Albums of 2024 by the Chicago Sun-Times and WBEZ / Vocalo-NPR.

Pop-Soul
Rachel Drew blends a strong modern take on rhythmic Memphis Soul, recalling Stax-Volt era performers like Carla Thomas, with doses of introspective folk, classic country, and the occasional pop-influenced flourish. In performance and on record, Rachel delivers intelligent lyrics in a soulful, heartfelt manner backed by a cadre of some of Chicago’s best working musicians."
