The Freeks
The Freeks
Psychedelic
THE FREEKS, are a psychedelically fuzzed, raw and electric surge of rockânâroll music that is dream bent with tension and laced with âFull Onâ passion. Coming out of two Southern California counties, combined as a seasoned gathering that features;
-Ruben Romano; Drummer, creator of THE FREEKS and founding member of both stoner rock legends âFuManchuâ & âNebulaâ.
-Ed Mundell; gold record selling lead guitarist of 18 years for the infamous âMonster Magnetâ and founding father of âThe Atomic Bitchwaxâ and âUltra Electric Mega Galacticâ.
-Jonathan Hall; 2nd lead guitar. The originator of LAâs smashing trio âBackbiterâ as well as a hired gun for punk icons âAngry Samoansâ.
-Ray Piller; a Cleveland transplant and creator of the far out âBiblical Proof of U.F.O.âsâ on Bass.
-And finally the introduction of vocalist, for the first time ever, the Amazing Dancing Dr. Jackson Queens L.T.D. who we also call Jason.

Heavy Fuzzed out Psychedelic Rock from the desert of 29 Palms- âthe best lo-fi mindf*ck since Monster Magnetâs 25âŠTabâ Revolver Magazine. For fans of the Stooges, Monster Magnet, Blue Cheer.
Requesting Permission To Land was recorded with the help of Mike McHugh (Train, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion). Each song was recorded in one or two takes to retain the original heart and soul of the piece. âitâs rock and roll. Not brain surgeryâ says Patrick of the recording process. The end result is a potent blend of thirty-plus minutes of psychedelic fuzzfest freakout and perhaps some of the rawest riffs you're likely to hear.
Having made one another's acquaintances through previous projects, Scott Reeder (Fu Manchu) stepped in to lend his drumming expertise to the recording session. Reeder plays like an absolute madman on the album and particularly shines on "Donât Look Around.
Requesting Permission To Land met with rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Dardevil.de stated âthrow your âSpine of Godâ copy in the trash and let Volume land in your CD player.â Hellride Music shouted that it was âmore Kramer than Kramer these daysâ. If you like straight up fuzzed out psychedelic rock sit back and let Volume spin your head!
