Dark Ambient

††† (Crosses)
Dark Ambient
††† (Crosses) comprise the minds of Chino Moreno of Deftones and producer/multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez, who have each solidified their names with the brooding songs they’ve respectively made for years both separately and together. Since uniting as ††† in 2011, the duo have used lush electronic production; modular synths and crooning vocals to channel deep emotion. That same year they released their landmark EP † and the subsequent EP††. 3 years later, in 2014, they released their self-titled album. 2022 marked a new era for the group with the release of their first body of music in many years, the "PERMANENT.RADIANT" EP which garnered support from NME, Kerrang, Paper, NTS among others. 2023 brings the release of their critically acclaimed second album "Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete.", as well as their first live performances in years.

CrookOne has been a fixture in Sacramento night life as a resident DJ at the house-party bar Golden Bear spinning funk, disco, and 80s hip-hop on wax. Friday nights at the GB have been deemed Crucial Fix since 2006, while his Heavy Duty night with Deftones Frank Delgado has been their exploration of funk, post-punk, and leftfield music in Sacramento bars (and Twitch livestreams during the pandemic) since 2002. A legend in the 916, CrookOne’s recording resume includes remixes for The Deftones, scratches and sound bytes on Death Grips’ acclaimed debut mixtape Ex-Military, and a band member in the group Team Sleep with Deftones’ Chino Moreno and Death Grips drummer Zach Hill. His production work on the song “Teenager” was used for the Deftones’ 2000 certified platinum album White Pony. - Blake Gillespie
