Chicago band BLOODIEST has been playing  the Bottle since 2009, but they haven't appeared all together since 2014. What we're trying to say is: be fucking ready, 'cause this is a big deal. This band continuously blow our minds and our eardrums with the menacing and malevolent classical and drone inspired metal found on their 2011 debut Descent. They continued this trend with their latest self-titled album, released this past January. Metal Injection said of the album: "Bloodiest provide brainy metal that comes together with ebbs and flows, twists and turns to unleash the kind of music that forces you to really think and pick apart the internal power of their creation." That can only mean fantastic things when churned out on the Empty Bottle stage. One of our favorite local instrumental metal bands, the trio known as ELECTRIC HAWK, prove you don't need many people on stage to create a sonic apocalypse. Operating without a singer, the trio continuously blows us away with their punishing, mathy approach to metal and they're about as loud as it comes, so don't forget those earplugs! SWEET COBRA, a trio of Chicagoans that make some of our favorite skull-crushing rock, has remained a cornerstone of Chicago's heavy music scene for over ten years now. We last saw them during our David Bowie Tribute Night last month, and we're pumped to have them back with some of their originals! Starting the show off is ALLEN EPLEY, formerly of popular Kansas City post-hardcore band SHINER and currently of Chicago space rock group THE LIFE AND TIMES. He's a big hit with the ladies and, well, basically everyone.

  • Bloodiest

    Bloodiest

    Alternative Rock

Chicago based psychedelic/doom/experimental band featuring members of YAKUZA, 90 DAY MEN, FOLLOWS, ATOMBOMBPOCKETKNIFE, SWEEP THE LEG JOHNNY. Bloodiest is a seven piece ensemble that creates a stunning collection of metal-meets-psychedelia-via-early-AmRep epics. Their debut album "Descent" was recorded in September 2010 with engineer Sanford Parker and released by Relapse Records in April 2011.

  • Electric Hawk

    Electric Hawk

    Heavy Metal

Fire and smoke streaming across open water as the ship begins to sink into the sea. Nobody can say which particular act of negligence was the beginning, but as the waves crash against live cinder its conclusive that the end is near. Disaster floating beneath a still dusk. Only the gulls and barnacles will survive.

As the last three men alive prepare to meet their fate a pact is formed. Boatswain Mike Burns and Powder Monkey Graham McLaughlin lay guitars on deck and prepare for one last blaze of glory within the hand of doom. The ships' Cooper, a manchild called Noah Leger cobbles a crude kit of percussion instruments just in the nick of time. The white smoke and red embers taking charge as salty water comes crawling to swallow it all. It’s not the fire, ultimately it’s the water. And as fate becomes fact the crushing riffage of Electric Hawk echoes across the sky, refracting from cave walls and across sandy beaches, making Great Whites puke in their mouths. The song is DIRTNAP and its Electric Hawk's last moment to shine. It’s a good day to die.

  • Sweet Cobra

    Sweet Cobra

    Heavy Metal

The sonic assault of Sweet Cobra has been described by critics as everything from “hypnotic, riff-driven mayhem” to “sludgy groove with hardcore intensity.” Still, that doesn’t do their unmistakably original sound justice.
