Shield your eyes, music lovers - Blame Candy is landing. The self-dubbed "intergalactic rock" quartet is quickly becoming rock and roll’s most dangerous elephant in the room. Whether they’re dazzling concert-goers with lightning-speed instrumental virtuosity, subverting social standards with gender-bending fashion, or gyrating in flawless synchronicity, the members of Blame Candy leave a glittery trail of destruction wherever they roam.
The band’s musical bedrock is built upon its dynamic and flamboyant live performance, which ringmaster Chris Greatti describes as a “reckless and animalistic release of pent-up youthful energy - dressed to impress.” The rambunctious opener “Sweet Tooth” muses on addiction to “rock and roll symphonies” amidst winding, neoclassical-guitar flurries, while the choreographed “Pathetic” dutifully illustrates the bands knack for earworm melodies and penchant for onstage theatrics.
With influences ranging from early Van Halen and Queen to The Beatles, Frank Zappa and Radiohead, Blame Candy’s sound and image are undoubtedly eccentric and eclectic, and its live show is a must-see glam rock event unlike any other. In Greatti’s words, “Blame Candy’s music is music for the 2020’s. Modern pop is unacceptably boring, but the future of rock and roll is gleaming. Take my hand and join us.”
