Announcing the 2017 TransAtlantic Festival – The Sound of the World Right now. We look forward to a groovy weekend at the North Beach Bandshell with you!

Day 1 is Made in Miami: ACHÉ., Los Herederos and Lazaro Casanova
Day 2 is Afro Roots World Music Night: Sinkane (live), Vieux Farka Touré and Symbi Roots.
Both nights feature great food: The Avenue - British Diner, WATT Collective and Peace a' Pie and the mixologists from Blackbird Ordinary behind the bars. Capoeira in the park, after show Friday at On The Rocks Miami Beach, after show Saturday at Sandbar Lounge.

Ask a Yoruba; aché is the primordial, mystical life force that permeates everything in the universe. A group of Miami music veterans have tapped in for an exciting new project that fuses rhythms of the orishas with house music - A.C.H.É AfroCuban House Experiment featuring OSCAR G (Murk Records, Funky Green Dogs) OBA Frank Lords and Katiahshé.

Vieux Farka Touré is often referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara.” He is the son of legendary Malian guitar player Ali Farka Touré, and he continues to explore the fertile musical links between Malian music and American blues. His collaborations include legends of African music and far beyond, including Dave Matthews, Idan Rachel, Julia Easterlin.

Sinkane is a Sudanese-Brooklynite bandleader (Atomic Bomb! supergroup, which includes David Byrne, Damon Albarn, members of Hot Chip, LCD Sound System, Amadou & Mariam and so many others) Here he brings his funk-soul-afropop group for a live set, in support of their new release Life and Livin’ It.

TransAtlantic Festival features the US debut of all-female Haitian rara group Symbi Roots. Prepare for transformation.

TransAtlantic Festival is presented by Rhythm Foundation with support from John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Additional support is received from Jack Daniels, Concrete Beach Brewery, Atlantic Broadband, Waterside Hotel, Urban Resource, City of Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council, and Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs. Day 2 of the Festival is presented in partnership with Community Arts and Culture's Afro Roots World Music Festival.
