P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center is pleased to announce Warm Up 2006, the critically acclaimed music series that has become one of New York’s most exciting and anticipated summer events. The series is a curated mix of live music and DJ acts, and has become an integral part of P.S.1’s summer programming. Warm Up 2006 opens with the ten-year reunion of Body & SOUL with Danny Krivit, François K. and Joe Claussell. The legendary New York-based group is known for putting on spirited – and spiritual – daytime dance parties. The backdrop of this year’s Warm Up is BEATFUSE! by the New York-based OBRA Architects, the winner of the 2006 MoMA/P.S.1 Young Architects Program.

About Body & SOUL
Body & SOUL began its New York City Sunday afternoon dance parties in July 1996. Held weekly at club Vinyl, the parties featured resident DJ's François K., Joaquin "Joe" Claussell and Danny Krivit tag-teaming together behind the decks. Presented by promoter John Davis, Body & SOUL changed the city’s notoriously fickle party landscape by catering to music lovers from all walks of life. It quickly became the destination of choice for anyone passionate about getting their groove on, drawing endless streams of supporters from all over the planet, eager to join in on the mobbed weekly celebrations. Diverse and forward-thinking, Body & SOUL effortlessly bridges cultural differences through the healing powers of music and dance. The group has released a series of successful compilation albums, and participated in memorable large-scale events, such as Central Park’s SummerStage. Body & SOUL is currently touring internationally -- including Japan, Italy, Brazil, and Portugal -- for special events and festivals. To commemorate its 10-year anniversary, Body & SOUL is proud and honored to kick off the Warm Up 2006 music series at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center.
