If all the music journos around the world who have reviewed A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS – whether it be a live show or on record – had to describe the NYC trio in one word, our money is on “LOUD.” Their newest release, an LP on Dead Oceans, Worship has been called by the label, “the loudest one ever submitted to the label for approval.” Within the first ten seconds of the lead track, listeners are greeted with dive-bombing guitar noise, grenades, mortar shells and what could be the sound of exploding furniture – needless to say, the new effort packs every bit of the searing sonic maelstrom the world has come to expect from APBTS and ups the ante on barely-harnessed dark energy, snarling propulsion, unexpectedly catchy hooks and doomed-out vibes. Philadelphia-based noise-rock group BLEEDING RAINBOW have hit the road with APTBS for this tour and play the Bottle in support of their October release Yeah Right, out via Kanine Records. A full-blown, badass and trippy-as-shit assault on your ears, the record pushes the extremes of murky, ominous and sometimes harsh and fuzzed-out guitar onslaughts, while also exploring more hushed, ethereal moments that evoke psychedelic, reverb-soaked shoegaze-pop. They’ve created something beautiful from harsh noise, something you’re not going to want to live. DJ PEROXIDE spins tracks all night long so get here early for all the noisy goodness our little club can muster.
