Celso Piña nació el 6 de Abril de 1953 en el Barrio Nuevo Repueblo al sur de Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. En la última década de su carrera, Celso ha venido experimentando con varios géneros musicales, como el rock, danzón, reggae, pop, son, bolero, etc. 

Ha trabajado con  amigos y colegas artistas, tales como, Café Tacvba, Control Machete, Lila Downs, El Gran Silencio, Julieta Venegas, Ely Guerra, Benny, Alex Lora, Lupe Esparza, Eugenia León, Aleks Syntek, Gloria Trevi, Laura León, Natalia LaFourcade, Inspector, Bacilos, Flaco Jiménez, Sargento García, entre muchos otros. Con esta incursión a la fusión de géneros  ha logrado muchos reconocimientos, de la gente y los medios de comunicación del mundo. 

Actualmente, Celso Piña se prepara para lanzar en Estados Unidos su mas reciente material discográfico titulado “Aquí Presente Compa”, del cual, el próximo mes de Marzo, lanzará su primer sencillo, “Reyna de Cumbias”.

Celso Piña (Born April the 6th 1953 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México) is a notable Mexican singer, composer and accordionist. In 2002, Piña was nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards: “Best Contemporary Tropical Album” and “Best New Artist From the North” as well as for “Best Alternative Artist” by the MTV Latino Awards. He is also know by the nicknames: “El Rebelde del Acordeón” and “El Cacique de la Campana”.

Celso Piña is a pioneer in mixing or blending sounds of tropical base, combined with all kind of popular genres from norteño to sonidero, Ska, Reggae, Rap, Hip Hop or R&B, just to mention some. For this reason he’s considered one of the best musicians from Mexico and Latin America.
