In Knoxville we consider everyone a neighbor & that’s why we’re inviting all of you to our first Food & Wine Yard Party at the Mill & Mine on Sunday May 7th !
Starting at 12pm we welcome the following local pastry & coffee experts:
- Shaun & Meg Parrish of Old City Java/Wild Love Bakery
- Peggy Hambright of Magpies Bakery
- Hannah & Mike McConnell of Sugar Mama’s Bakery
These representatives are providing samples of baked goods & insights into Knoxville’s developing pastry & baking scene.
Our next panelists are comprised of Knoxville’s most dedicated & innovative chefs who are helping move our local food scene to the next level:
- Jesse Newmister of Kaizen
- Joseph Lenn of J.C Holdway
- Matt Gallaher of Knox Mason
- Jeffrey Dealejandro of OliBea
- Holly Hambright of Holly’s Gourmets Market
- Chris Ford of Sweet P’s BBQ
In addition to sharing their challenges & insights into Knoxville food culture each chef will be preparing dishes to accompany a smoked hog dinner prepared by Fatback Collective member Pat Martin & Crew representing Martin’s Bar-B-Que. This locally sourced & ethically raised hog will be smoked for 30 hours just for you!
Representing the growing cocktail, beer, & wine culture we have a slew of experts. The craft cocktail connoisseurs behind Post Modern Spirits will be performing a cocktail demonstration, as will Lonesome Dove. The Downtown Wine + Spirits staff are putting on wine tasting presentations, & Knox Beer Snobs crew is leading a beer tasting panel featuring the following local breweries:
- Crafty Bastard
- Last Days of Autumn
- Balter Beer Works
- Fanatic Beer
- Pretentious Beer Co.
A feast of this nature deserves to be shared & that is why we are donating a portion of the proceeds from this event to the Knoxville chapter of the Power of Product (POP) program in addition to partnering with School of Hard Knox to pair Austin East High School students with our guest chefs for one-on-one work throughout the festivities.
