21 years and over
THE NUDE PARTY congealed as one unit in the southern mountain town of Boone, NC in 2013 and gained their namesake very literally. Bonded by isolation, house party debauchery, a religion based on pushing the limits of bad taste, and a precociouspredisposition towards THE KINKS, THE ANIMALS,& THE VELVETS, they have burgeoned into a rock and roll act to be reckoned with. As the hysteria at their local shows steadily increases, so does their reputation with local law enforcement, forcing them daily more to seek employment anywhere but home.
Their stripped down and bare bone sound, akin to the British Invasion being transplanted back into the Carolina mountains, has so far proven to have been unrecordable… until now. The secret? Sticking to the obvious and going down into a sweaty basement with a few mics, fewer clothes and a revolving door of comrades and goddesses falling by for as long as they can take the heat. Lately the Nudes have even gotten good at playing with their clothes on. However if any audience member feels the need to participate in the spirit of exhibitionism the stakes at the Party will unblinkingly be called and raised. Returning for the first time since opening for THE SERATONES way back in October of 2016 is Chicago's very own THE EVENING ATTRACTION. The band's swooning vocal delivery alongside clean, lush guitar work is reminiscent of days gone by and they've mastered a folky but quick-paced interpretation of all things jangly. It’s literally impossible to frown while soaking in THE EVENING ATTRACTION's indie-blues and lovestruck grooves. THE TOMBLANDS are a 4-piece indie rock band originally formed founded amidst the college haze of Champaign-Urbana. Since relocating to Chicago, they've played everywhere from sweaty Logan Square garages and Humboldt Park basements to a packed Empty Bottle (that's us!). A delicate blend of garage, punk, indie and surf rock influences, they've shared stages with indie heavyweights such as Twin Peaks and Titus Andronicus and are currently recording their first professional EP at Treehouse Records. LUCILLE FURS is a young four-piece who call Chicago home and they're no strangers to our stage. Tonight they'll be hitting the decks to DJ some psych, rock, pop and everything in between.
