21 years and over
The esteemed Third Man Records is hitting the road this winter for a month-long tour that features three of the hardest-hitting brain-rippers on their renowned roster. Detroit-based noise and experimental rock powerhouse Wolf Eyes will headline the night alongside fellow Detroit rock & roll noise-niks Timmy's Organism and snotty Austin, TX-based punk rockers Video. It's gonna be one for the ages and we strongly recommend you buy tickets in advance so you don't get stuck out in the cold like some kind of sucker.
We haven't seen WOLF EYES since 2013, so its about damn time they stop by. Since the late 90s, Michigan trio WOLF EYES have been known to create harsh and hypnotic electronic landscapes that merge the frenzied energy of hardcore with the nihilistic menace of early industrial and noise. Joining this evening is TIMMY'S ORGANISM, the latest from Detritus's TIM LAMPINEN of EPILEPTIC, CLONE DEFECTS, and HUMAN EYE, to name a few. TIMMY'S ORGANISM is the latest from Detroit frontman TIM LAMPINEN. Known from fronting some of the most compelling and unique bands in the word for over two decades, TIMMY'S ORGANISM presents LAMPINEN (aka Timmy Vulgar) along with bassist JEFF GIANT and drummer BLAKE HILL, ready for their close-up. There's no band that can lay claim to being the true best in the business, except VIDEO. Crawling from the musical wasteland that is Texas, their intentions are simple: they want to own the world. Combining equal parts snotty punk, hard rock, and melodic dissonance, VIDEO are pioneers of their own subgenre, "Hate Wave." Going well beyond the confines of paint by numbers punk, and generic, flaccid garage rock, VIDEO forges a new cult like movement. So pay attention, consumers, and don't miss out on the best thing going today. Reverb-heavy sludgey punks THE FUNS are local D.I.Y. heroes, having started their own cassette, vinyl and print label, Manic Static, that's known for its minimal-bordering-on-grisly aesthetic. Realistically, THE FUNS' music is without genre and having come up in basement/DIY/underground venues, the duo's dynamic, shape-shifting and multi-textural "rock" music is meant to be heard in a live (and loud) environment. They also refurbished a house four hours south of Chicago that acts an artistic refuge of sorts for those who need a break from city living. THE FUNS have ripped our stage a new one the many times they've played here and we expect another wild, unpredictable and disaster-friendly set tonight. Spinning us into the night is EYE VYBE DJs, featuring Eye Vybe Records founder, GVF organizer, and all-around excellent, creative person KARISSA TALINIAN. She will be will be spinning the Eye Vybe tunes and letting all the good times roll. Let’s get weird, ya’ll.
