Trigger Hippy is a powerful, soul-infused rock and roll band founded by Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman featuring twin lead vocals from multi-platinum recording artist Joan Osborne and singer-songwriter Jackie Greene (also recently with the Black Crowes) on guitar and keyboards. Rounding out the group are lead guitarist Tom Bukovac and bassist Nick Govrik.
After meeting in high school Eric Scharver and Brian Miller spent nearly 10 years apart. During that time both had immersed themselves in music, fun, and trouble. One in Detroit. One in Chicago. In June 2011 Miller moved home to Michigan, where they’d reunite and form the band Oak Bones.
Both Scharver and Miller take on the writing duties, often penning the songs together. Strong lyrics and catchy hooks drive most of their work as they go between sweet balladry and rowdy foot stompers. Their music shows that both men are as troubled as they are elated. On December 29th, 2012 Oak Bones released their self-titled debut album with producer Jim Tullio at Butcher Boy Studio. Soaking in the album and giving it time to catch on they played relentlessly picking up new fans along the way. There is a sense of inclusiveness to their performances, and chances are you’ll stick around and become a part of the family.
