Formed by singer/lyricist Geoff Rickly (of Thursday), United Nations is an experimental punk supergroup whose members legally cannot be shared in press materials. Use your friend Google to give it a search; there's plenty of notable cooks in this kitchen. And as far as legal matters go, United Nations squared off with a certain organization of the same name for some legal battles for the band's name and logo. What we love about them is their stick-to-it attitude. During a January performance in Brooklyn at St. Vitus, frontman Rickly said of this matter, "So, we got sued by the United Nations. We're just a stupid band and they're a humanitarian organization. But I think it raises a lot of good cause about how anybody with money and power can trample anybody without it. So we're going to keep on doing this band and we're going to keep on calling it United Nations and when they try to sue us, they're not going to be able to find us because we've never copyrighted our songs. You guys can steal them, you can copy them, you can do whatever you want. Some things are not about ownership." Frameworks and CityCop flesh out the rest of this insane bill.
