BONZO TERKS -
The guilty parties describe Bonzo Terks as "Free/Groove/Exploder." By blending the unstoppable force of free jazz with the cohesion of grooves, explosions happen and everyone giggles with glee. "Do they really know what they're doing? They can't be serious.." The audience can never be ready. Always mutating, pulsating, recapitulating, boiling, gurgling, spewing but never compromising, Bonzo Terks is what you come to love, even if you don't understand it.
Lighting a fire beneath the otherwise zombie-like existence most people have come to see as normal and bring back the soul of music that has been lost to fashion over production and electronics. We love you, we hope to make you love us too.
King Orchid has steamrolled into the Boston music scene with their impressive live performances, dedication, and song-writing talent. Zack Fierman and Doug Wartman met in college and decided in September 2008 that it was time to create something special, meticulously working at perfecting their style to competently control sound to the degree that a listener could forget that there are only two men performing. However, such a misconception is impossible due to their magnetic energy on stage, drawing all eyes and attentions into their orbit and along for a wild musical ride. With influences including electro-blues greats Jack White, the Black Keys, and Led Zeppelin, folk virtuosos Kaki King and Ani DiFranco, and a dash of the progressive styling of the Mars Volta and RX Bandits, King Orchid’s music and performance is exhilarating and fresh, filled with the passion and fury that marks the difference between A band and THE band.
