Another very recent Sub Pop signee, like this past Saturday's METZ, gothic balladeer DAUGHN GIBSON has been rising in the eyes of tastemakers and music fans over the past year for his 2012 release All Hell, a fresh, new and interesting take on blues and country. A former truckdriver who cut his teeth playing in punk and metal bands, GIBSON utilizes his grace and debonaire with dark electronics that reflect his rough-and-tumble past. GIBSON is making his Empty Botle debut here tonight, and while it's not a Free Monday like most weeks, we're damn sure this up-and-coming crooner will be more than worth the $10 you dig out of your pockets. Back with a second album of thoughtful new themes, SUN AIRWAY's Soft Fall, out via Dead Oceans, moves out out of the bedroom and into cathedrals, taking us to an ethereal layer between worlds. The songs are hyper-saturated, bright and colorful, spilling from the speakers. In a landscape of collapsed beats, humming of the life that springs up from underneath, SUN AIRWAY's live show takes you on frosty morning walks through the woods where twinges of psychedelic light escape through the spaces between the leaves. A new side-project of that devilish dude-duo PRESsSURES, Chicagoans TREASURY kick things off tonight - come get spooky!
