21 years and over
It’s Election Tuesday’s Erection Show – after you done voted for your local and national representitives, come down to the Bottle for an awesome night of rocks and rolls; if Romney wins, we’ll surely need to drink our asses off anyways. South Londoners DIGNAN PORCH headline tonight’s match-made-in-heaven. The group touches down into the effects-heavy shoegaze/dream pop world with some lovely vocals and harmonics but they really fly when they unashamedly let loose on the slacker guitar-hero stuff. Making their first trip to the Bottle, this four-piece is bursting with coolness and melodies to kill and/or possibly die for. Called by NYLON, "BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE on Prozac," SECRET COLOURS channel late 60s psychedlia, 90s newgaze and driving, bucolic, no frills rock into an original sound all their own. The tracks on the new recording see the ensemble pushing their psychedelic extremes and jangly loose ends – for a preview of what to expect, seek out their spooky scary video for “Faust.” Following the release of an EP in 2010 and after a year spent coming together as a live force to be reckoned with, STEPHEN PUAL SMOKER emerge with a harder, darker edge on their debut LP, Ripe Fruit, out on the first day of spring via Kilo Records. Of the effort, RCRD LBL has praised “incessant stomp, gutter guitar that evolves to squall, psychedelic canyon vocals and elements of disco all appear…this is dirty music for dirty times.” They’re kicking things off on this here election night Tuesday and we’re hoping to hear some truly dirty riffage to toast the occasion.
