Austin-based post-feminist duo AGENT RIBBONS hits the Bottle tonight in support of their recently releaset EP Let Them Talk, out via Antenna Farm Records, an effort that has received high praise from the likes of VICE, Bust Magazine and Impose for its lovely and frolicking rawness. While they bring a definitive positivity to the world of minimal "garage rock," don't think AGENT RIBBONS are here for that lovey-dovey NPR crap. The pair was somehow banned from the U.K. in 2008, and they've been known to catch crowds off-guard with a wicked, head-bashing live show, bringing both an honest minimalism and unapologetic theatricality to the stage. They’re joined tonight by two Chicago bands - ARCHITECTURE, a duo whose recently released debut, When We Were Young is a dreamy blend of organic and electronic elements fused with dark pop and nostalgia and CAREFUL Q, an indie-pop band who makes their Bottle debut tonight, taking hints from 60s girl groups and doo-wop while channeling the attitude of bands like SLEATER-KINNEY, if that group had grown up in sunny SoCal instead of the dreary Pacific NW.
